Frequently Asked Questions

Answers To Frequently Asked Questions

What makes your training different from other programs?

Our training stands apart through several key differentiators. We emphasize real-world application, ensuring that training translates directly to everyday situations rather than just working in a training facility. Our structured progression uses a systematic approach that ensures solid foundations before advancing to more complex skills. Day training preserves your relationship while providing professional guidance, unlike board-and-train programs that can disrupt the human-dog bond. We provide customized programming adapted to individual learning styles and goals rather than one-size-fits-all approaches. Most importantly, our professional expertise is rooted in working dog training experience, drawing on proven methods from high-stakes environments to inform everyday pet training.

Yes, this is exactly what our intermediate-level programs address. Our Charting the Course intermediate group class ($195 per class) focuses on reliability and consistency for dogs who know commands but struggle with consistent performance. For more intensive work, our Sextant Navigation private training package (6 sessions, $1,150) provides personalized attention to build precision timing and reliability. These programs emphasize distraction-proofing and real-world application to ensure your dog responds reliably regardless of the environment or situation.

What if my dog doesn't progress as expected?

Our experienced team will work with you to ensure success regardless of initial challenges. We'll assess and adjust training methods to better suit your dog's learning style and needs. Programs can be modified to match your dog's individual learning pace and preferences. We provide additional support and resources as needed, drawing from our extensive experience with diverse learning styles. Most importantly, we'll work closely with you to achieve your training goals, adjusting our approach until we find what works best for your specific situation.

How experienced is your training team?

We have over 30 years of professional K9 training expertise. Our team has experience training working dogs for law enforcement, security operations, and specialized service applications, as well as family pets of all levels.
