Danny is the heart and soul of Compass K9, bringing over 35 years of unparalleled experience in law enforcement and K9 operations. After 15 years as a career law enforcement officer and elite K9 handler, Danny's expertise reached new heights through five years of overseas service with the State Department in Iraq. There, he trained special operations units and their K9 teams. His work with EOD (bomb squad) units was particularly demanding—clearing dangerous scenes and entering alongside explosive ordnance disposal teams, relying entirely on his skills and his dog's abilities to detect threats. When Danny returned from Iraq, he made a conscious choice—as he likes to say, he "gave up all the guns and bullets aspect and kept the puppy dogs and sunshine." For the past 10 years, he has channeled this extraordinary tactical expertise into his own dog training business, transforming decades of high-stakes experience into positive, life-changing training for dogs and their families.
